Longing for Summer

I came across these photos while going through my computer. They were taken towards the end of last summer, it actually might have even been the very beginning of the school year. My roommates and I went down to Castle Island in Southie to have a picnic and just enjoy the last of the nice weather before we had to start hibernating. It was an all around beautiful day with beautiful friends. These pictures really bring me back to how much I loved last summer and how I can not WAIT to be back in shorts within the coming months!

Since 4th grade, I've taken at least one annual trip to Katie's house in New Hampshire. Sometimes with her parents, sometimes with other friends, sometimes just the two of us. I have so many great memories from that house over the years. Halloween weekend, we added another memorable day.

Kate, Christine, Kevin and I took a day trip up to Katie's House in New Hampshire. We hung around, checked out her old barn, played on her swing set and snagged some lunch at a nearby farm/country store. We had a great time, and some great laughs. I can't wait to return this winter for some sledding action!

I know. It's been forever. Months.

Time has just flown by recently and I haven't even put a second thought into posting more pictures. I've taken more pictures, tons more, I just haven't been sharing. I need to get back into the habit. Here goes nothing...

About two months ago, Jamie and I went on a day trip to the White Mountains on the Kancamangus Highway in New Hampshire. We were really hoping to see some foliage and after some quick research, found out that the White Mountains peak foliage season is the first weekend in October. We set out early to head for the mountains and check out the Flume Gorge. On our hike and drive we were fortunate enough to see some beautiful colors and admire what New England is famous for in the fall.

I have one more post from my hiatus, and I will try and keep up from now on. :)

Happy Belated Birthday America!

It has been years since I've spent the 4th at my Aunt's house in Marion, MA. We used to go every year and spend the weekend, but school and jobs and schedules have gotten in the way during the past 6 years, so when my family all finally got a chance to get together, we all jumped on it. It was so nice to see so many relatives and see how much everyone has grown! I love the feeling of that beach and all the memories attached to it were so comforting to revisit. I hope we go back next year, this year's 4th was such a tease. :)

Who ever said they had to go in reverse order? I watched the video on the B&J's tour in VT, and they said nothing about one having higher priority over the other. Here is Katie enjoying some ice cream. :)

It Takes a Long Time to Grow Old Friends

It was time for a get away. So, this weekend Christine, Katie and I jumped in the car and trekked up to Christine's house in Maine. The car ride up was full of great stories and even greater laughs. Saturday night we hung out by the fire until around 4am and Sunday was spent canoeing and sun bathing on the lake raft. Sunday afternoon, the three of us went to Steeplebush Farm (or as Christine lovingly refers to it's owner: "The Herb Lady"). Her garden and shop were so quaint and beautiful. Lauriejane (I think that was her name) was such a sweet woman and extremely knowledgeable about her farm and products, as she made many of them herself. I look forward to returning and buying some of the most delicious smelling home-made soaps.

Yesterday, Katie, Seville, and I piled into the Honda and made the long drive up to Lake Winnisquam for Christine's Birthday. We went to a timeshare c/o Megan and spent the night swimming in the indoor pool and taking advantage of the awesome waterslide. This morning, Katie and I woke up early to get some shots of the Steele Hill Farm in Sanborton, NH. The cows were a little peeved that we were on thier property but the tractor-man that welcomed us in didn't seem to mind.
